The work series ‘From Below’ with its utopian view of interior spaces
challenges our perception, while showing rooms from below the floor, as
if they would merely consist of glass. The
mathematically logical concept of perception seems easily comprehensible
at first, but then our orientation system looses structure in these
self contained, dynamic aesthetics. The objects seem to be weightless
and appear to be floating and tumbling through space, while denying
gravity. The observation from below nearly seems as a threatening
entity, even more if one considers that the observation is understood as
an omnipresent, latent self-observation. Michael Rohde
