Pedophile

Will McBride is a well known photographer and sculptor. People found him controversial, a Pedophile, because he took a lot of sexually loaded pictures of young boys. I'm translating this text into german, because we're doing a project with him in Berlin. Find out yourself

Boys

In my artwork I occupy myself with the boy. I love him, worship him in a way. I think he’s worth saving. For me it is a disaster see him manipulated by society so he will fit in and obey all the rules. The originality of the beginning boy at this outset is good. He should keep his core, his essence.

What is his core, his nature? He is partly very aggressive. When a boy is bored, he turns to tumbling and cuffing, wrestling with other boys. This is very animal like. Dogs do this, as so do lions, stags, cats, and all the rest of the animal kingdom. And when the time comes to pair with the female of their kind, animals get very aggressive as so do humans. One can develop this nature to an extreme degree and make aggressive monsters of these boys, or, if you are interested in a peaceful world like I am, you can teach them lessons to calm themselves down. Eastern cultures, like the Indian and the Tibetian exercise this training.
How then do States worldwide get boys to be soldiers? Hot is it that they are perfectly willing to go to war and kill and be killed? From the very beginning the will to fight is developed trough games. They are enthusiastic about this game to the greatest degree. Attacking, defending, fighting, killing are the ultimate fun experiences, and in games, this can go indefinitely. Computer games give the opportunity to kill without end. At the certain point some of these boys decide to be soldiers. They are selected, set apart, robbed of their sex life and become aggressive monsters. And then they are ready to go to war.
Wars, historical resentments, economical reasons like the production of weapons, fundamental reasons like hunger, and jealousy.

But without the aggressive young man (the boy become young man) without the soldiers, there is no war to be made. I wrote earlier at one time that if the boys and the young men would spend more time with each other in bad they would have less inclination to kill each other on the battlefield. But I’m not advocating that all the boys should get gay. But I’m very much for signs of love between the boys and young men, leaving aside the sexual urge that is normal at that age. Although, of course, many an attraction at this age can develop into livelong relationships. It might take the weight off the other sex and reduce the overpopulation of the planet.
But this is not the way society functions at present.
The older boy or younger man is visually castrated as soon as he enters puberty. As soon as he grows pubic hair on his lower stomach and has meaningful erections of his penis, then he dare not show himself in public. And he is constantly in fear of exposing these sexual body parts and the fear of punishment if he does. It is against the law.

To my way of thinking, this incompleteness and the fear of it augments the feelings in the already aggressive youth. I think that this suppression of the boys sexual self-awareness has a direct relationship to the wars. The boy’s core is stamped with self-realization, drive towards freedom, a large portion of curiosity and a great interest in sex.  The urge, the need to have orgasms is extreme. Much earlier than Freud supposed does sexual tension overcome the boy who releases this generally trough masturbation. This practice is as natural as the antagonism produced among the genitival pubic.
The penis, especially when erect is one of society’s most abhorred taboos. The state thrives to this. Because the state needs the growing boy for the most part without his sex part. The state replaces the (lost) penis with tools and weapons. And the results are showable. The penis is not showable and the resulting feeling of shame, frustration, fear and anger are used by the state.
